There is tremendous
respect granted to those who graciously share their insights, telling
people how they got over the hurdles, especially after falling hard and finding
others "walking all over you." Our teachers have been successful in life --
they have been givers, not takers. They live their life by being open and
gracious, not self-righteous and greedy.
Where most of the
media is only interested in the dark side or underbelly of business, we focus
on the most creative and productive, and their drive toward excellence.
We all need new
role models. Television shows like The Sopranos thrash values and make a
mockery of small business. By lifting up exploitive behavior as an art form,
cleverly shaping every second, HBO -- and so much of commercial television and
our cinema -- encourages the bad, confuses the weak and the marginal, and
weakens the strong.
It is becoming
increasingly easy to work with our major national trade associations (there are
about 2,500 out of 40,000+) with large numbers of small business owners. We
would also include groups like the Better Business Bureau, National Federation
of Independent Business, and many other business associations like the Rotary,
Kiwanis, Lions... If each organization were each to recognize ten companies a
year for outstanding work in their industry and in their community, the world
would become a better place. These are the stories that should be told. These
are the people we should see on television.
Our big goal is
to increase productions from 26 episodes per year to 4000 episodes per year
where there are at least 13 episodes per year created within each Designated
Market Area (DMA). There are 210 DMAs in the USA. Most other countries
represent at least one DMA. Of course, Russia, India and China have many.
We always invite
our viewers' COMMENTS OR
QUESTIONS. That's been our tradition since 1994; we'll always
ask you for your comments or questions at the bottom of most every page on this
website.
Your feedback is
key. The feedback from each episode of the show has been most
encouraging. |
